We photographed Jessamyn and Stephen at the Indianapolis Public Library back in early spring. These two were so fun to work with and we are so excited for their wedding this weekend!

Jessamyn shared some of their beautiful story with us:

“We met in February of 2019 on a blind date set up by Stephen’s mom! Stephen’s sister was one of my friends in Nashville, and she invited me on a retreat, which her mom was also attending. At dinner the first night, dating came up in conversation, and Stephen’s mom asked if I would be willing to get together with her son. A few weeks later, when I was passing through Atlanta, we went out on our first date and had a BLAST. The rest is history.

We were set up right before silence began on a silent retreat, so we know Jesus was there from the beginning! We didn’t know each other at all before our first date, but it’s been super easy from the beginning. Our shared Catholic faith has made a lot of conversations easy because we’re coming from the same set of values and morals. Our one great saint story is this: While in college, I (Jessamyn) was introduced to the “Be Satisfied in Me” prayer by St. Anthony of Padua. I prayed it nearly every day in college — it was literally taped on the wall next to my pillow. The morning of our first date, I was in Savannah, GA (finishing a music competition), and I really wanted to go to the Savannah Cathedral for Mass before driving to Atlanta. At the end of Mass, a visiting priest shared that he was there with traveling relics of St. Anthony of Padua. Even though I was running a little behind, I ended up sticking around and putting a prayer intention “for my future husband” in the basket in front of the relics. And then I hopped in the car and drove to our first date.”

Jessamyn and Stephen, we are so excited for you two as you begin your journey as husband and wife. It is so clear that the Lord put you together and we cannot wait to see the plans He has in store for you and to celebrate with you this weekend!
