This was such a special wedding day! Things were so peaceful and smooth and sweet. They had the most amazing bridal party surrounding them– such incredible support and friends and family who were just so happy for them. They met on the World Race (11 month mission trip) and just about their entire team travelled to be with them on their wedding day, from all over the US! Also, David is a youth pastor out in OR and had several of his youth group members travel to attend as well! They are one very loved couple!

A very special ceremony moment– they knelt down and had both sets of parents join them on stage and pray over them (side note: Dad prayed in Ukrainian/Russian– was so neat!), and then they each also prayed aloud for each other and their marriage. It was powerful and reverent and holy feeling in the sanctuary. Then their first act as husband and wife was to join in with their guests in the singing of “in christ alone.”

They had a very unique reception with several slavic traditions. There wasn’t dancing, but many activities. They had a raffle, and guests won prizes. They had all the single folks line up facing the same direction (like in a train) and played “telephone”, except they had to perform an action, starting with David and ending with Nichol. It was HILARIOUS what the end result was– so far from the original! They played the shoe game as well– and usually wound up with the same answers! 🙂 It was a beautiful evening celebrating a really special couple. I can’t wait to see what the Lord does in and through this couple!

Then most recently, we got to photograph them in the beginning of their next new journey: parenthood. Becca and Jared, we are […]
