If ever there was a couple that was so focused on the Lord, it is Emily and Nathan. From the moment we arrived to big bear hugs from Emily, to their First Prayer that left us with tears in our eyes – Emily and Nathan were so genuinely and lovingly focused on the Lord and his goodness of the day in a way we’ve never seen before. He was BEAMING and she was full of all the most perfect tears 🙂
With a hurricane in tow, Emily and Nathan’s day was full of the best rainstorm a photography team could want! With our clear umbrellas in tow, we made the rain work in our favor and had one of the most fun wedding party portrait times we can remember!
From morning til night, Emily and Nathan brought Jesus into their wedding day, and it was right before we left for the evening that they invited all their guests outdoors to pray. Truly, this couple shined for Jesus on their day!
Emily and Nathan, you two are truly a testament to Jesus’ love and it was a privilege to see you two walk down the aisle TOGETHER as one.

First off, I’d like to say how much I love you both. Nathan, you’ve been like a brother to me. You’ve been my best friend for a long time, and Emily, you’re his other half, and both halves are equally great. You make my brother the happiest he’s ever been.

Like a lot of brothers, Nathan and I are pretty similar. We both went to Purdue. We’ve had the same job – twice. We’ve even both drawn on bananas. But one of the ways we are different is in decision-making. Nathan is typically careful and plans things out, and I’m much more go-with-the-flow and maybe even a little reckless.

For example, Nathan and I were hiking in a state park last summer, and there was a snake right next to the trail. So naturally I wanted to take a picture of it. As I’m walking toward it, Nathan starts running down the path and yells, “Evan, don’t!” I got my picture, but it turns out the snake was venomous, so maybe he had a point.

With such a cautious brother, you’d think I’d be surprised that he proposed to Emily after just 6 months of dating. But I wasn’t. It doesn’t take long to see that Nathan and Emily are meant to be together. 6 months was being cautious.

It took me one car ride with them to realize they were perfectly in synch. They went from making jokes to being super serious to quoting Spongebob to talking about their faith in about 30 seconds. I couldn’t keep up, but they were always on the same page. And I know they always will be.As similar as Nathan and I are, I know that Emily knows him much better than I do. And I think that’s saying something, considering we shared a room for 15 years. But now he’s getting a better roommate. Hopefully one who doesn’t shove him into the toy box when she gets angry.

So if you’ll all join me in raising a glass, to Nathan and Emily – may you have a long and happy life of quoting Spongebob together.
